The Rugby Oldham AGM was held at the Royal Oak, Rhodes Bank on Thursday 24th June at 8pm.

Those Board members who were standing for re-election were unanimously approved there being no other nominations.  The members concerned were David Blackburn, Steve Brown and Dave Naylor.

Reports were received on the year’s activities with the town’s amateur clubs and their youth sections and approval was granted to continue the sponsorship at amateur level.

It was noted that a new player sponsorship had been agreed with Oldham RLFC for Ben West.

The Chairman reported that he had met with Chris Hamilton on a number of occasions and that these talks had been constructive and amicable. Mr. Hamilton’s imminent heart operation meant these talks were on hold for the time being pending the return to fitness of the Oldham RLFC Chairman.

The accounts for the year were showing a small surplus and were unanimously approved.

It was reported that the new website was now operational and it was hoped to drive traffic to it and to interest more supporters in Rugby Oldham’s activites.

In addition it was noted that the Twitter account had around 225 followers and that a Facebook page was being set up to generate even more interest.

The meeting closed with a Q&A session at 9.10pm.
